Our Story

Bug Bam was originally developed in 1997 by Australian entrepreneur Joseph Symond. After expanding into the United States in 2004, domestic manufacturing of the Bug Bam line began in 2010. Since then, the brand has grown into a recognized name in plant-based mosquito protection.

Bug Bam products have undergone efficacy testing to evaluate their ability to help repel mosquitoes and other flying, biting insects when used as directed.

Our Products

The Bug Bam range includes personal, area, and pet-friendly repellents. One of the most popular is the Mosquito Band® repelling bracelet.

Each bracelet is formulated with EPA 25(b) exempt active ingredients and infused into a synthetic latex carrier material. The bracelet is non-toxic when used as directed, waterproof, sweat-resistant, and designed for everyday outdoor use.

Effective duration depends on scent strength and environmental conditions, and may last up to 100 hours under typical use.*

How to Use the Bug Repellent Bracelet

The bracelet is worn like a wristband or band around the ankle. Each unit arrives sealed inside a resealable vapor-barrier pouch. When not in use, storing the bracelet inside the pouch helps preserve scent strength and extend its usable life.

If worn for only part of a day, simply reseal it for future use.

Is Bug Bam Safe?

When used as directed, Bug Bam products are intended for normal consumer use. The formulation utilizes EPA 25(b) compliant ingredients, and the raw liquid formulation has been evaluated for skin and eye irritation potential under testing conditions.

The plant-based scent is what helps interfere with a mosquito’s ability to detect human scent markers.

Heavy Insect Activity

In areas with high mosquito pressure, wearing more than one bracelet may enhance the scent field around you. As with any repellent, effectiveness depends on environmental conditions, insect density, and proper usage.
