Restricted Substances List
Bug Bam products are considered a 'Minimum Risk Pesticide', and categorized by the US EPA under FIFRA 25b. As such, rather than deferring to a restricted substances list (RSL), Bug Bam is legally obligated by the US Federal Government, to ensure that all ingredients used in our products adhere to the stringent standards set by the US EPA and FIFRA Act. These standards go above and beyond a traditional RSL, and limit the ingredients we are premitted to use in our products as a direct result of comprehensive, ongoing testing performed by the USEPA. Abiding by the USEPA/FIFRA list ensures not only consumer safety of the highest standard, but mindfulness and safety of the environment is met as a key factor.
What is a minimum risk pesticide?
Because the EPA has determined that certain "minimum risk pesticides" pose little to no risk to human health or the environment, EPA has exempted them from the requirement that they be registered under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. This exemption provision is located in 40 CFR 152.25(f).
